With his father being a cardiologist, Dr. Jay Crook knew he would eventually have a career in medicine. After graduating from the College of William and Mary, he earned a law degree from Vanderbilt University. After practicing law for four years, Dr. Crook decided to continue the family medical legacy by enrolling in Vanderbilt's School of Medicine, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. After an Internal Medicine Residency at Vanderbilt, he completed fellowship training in general cardiology at Wake Forest University, where he served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow in 2008-2009.

Dr. Crook says he has an amazing opportunity to use expanding technology to help provide better care to patients with cardiovascular disease. He has special interests in echocardiography and TEE, cardiac CT and nuclear cardiology.

A native East Tennessean, Dr. Crook, his wife Robin and their three children are glad to call Knoxville their home. In his leisure time, Dr. Crook enjoys golf, spending time with his family, and cheering on the Tennessee Vols.
