Tiffany Skinner, APN-BC

Tiffany knew at age 16 that she wanted to be a nurse practitioner, and she realized that goal in 2007 when she earned her certification. After graduating from East Tennessee State and working several years as a critical care and cardiac care nurse, Tiffany enrolled in the master’s program at UT Knoxville. Since that time Tiffany has worked at University Cardiology delivering high quality care. She has remained closely linked with University of Tennessee College of Nursing. After obtaining Adjunct Faculty status in 2015 she has continued to serve as a mentor, preceptor, and delivered many lectures to the graduate students. She delivers expertise lecturing on topics including EKG interpretation, Long QT syndrome and chest pain.

In her role as a nurse practitioner, Tiffany wants patients to see her as an advocate who can improve interactions with their physician. By increasing patients’ comfort and communication, she wants them to feel that they have two healthcare providers working in their behalf. She is certified in Tikosyn Therapy and works closely with Dr. Jeffrey Hirsh. With extensive training in management of pacemakers and defibrillators she is able to help those patients with rhythm disorders and heart failure as well. Remote home monitoring of devices and experience working as a research coordinator for device related studies has made her a versatile provider in the field.
